Why You Should Never Share Your Password

Understand why support and account troubleshooting should not depend on sending your passwords in messages.

Passwords are authentication secrets. Anyone who obtains a password may be able to act as the account owner.

Do not send your Kimnet customer password, cPanel password, mailbox password or website administrator password in an ordinary support ticket.

A support investigation should begin with the affected account, domain, service, error message and relevant technical details rather than with your secret credentials.

If temporary access is genuinely required for a particular application-level investigation, use the safest access method available and change or remove temporary credentials afterward.

Never reuse the same password across multiple services. If one reused password is exposed, every account using it becomes more vulnerable.

If you accidentally shared a password, change it promptly and check the affected account for unexpected activity.

Kimnet customer, cPanel, email and website application passwords are separate. Changing one does not automatically secure the others.
