A locked domain generally cannot complete the normal registrar-transfer process until the required lock is removed.
If you are intentionally transferring a domain, you may need to unlock it through the current registrar before the transfer can proceed.
For domains managed through Kimnet, the customer domain-management area can provide a request workflow for supported registrar lock or unlock actions.
An unlock should be used for a legitimate management need such as an authorized transfer. Leaving a domain unnecessarily unlocked can reduce protection against unauthorized transfer attempts.
After a transfer or other required operation is complete, follow the appropriate registrar guidance for restoring the desired lock state.
Domain lock is different from website security, DNS configuration and hosting-account suspension. Changing the registrar lock does not directly edit website files or DNS records.
