A domain name is the address people type to reach a website, while hosting is the service that stores and serves the website's files and data. A working website normally needs both a domain that points to the correct hosting environment and an active hosting service.
Kimnet hosting services are managed through your Kimnet customer account. Each hosting service has a primary domain, package, service status, billing information and a corresponding cPanel hosting account.
cPanel provides the technical tools used to manage website files, databases, email accounts and other hosting features available under your package.
Hosting packages have resource and feature limits. These can include storage, email accounts, databases, subdomains and other resources. Check your service and package information before adding resource-intensive websites or services.
Your hosting service also has a billing lifecycle. Keep the service renewed by its due date to avoid overdue lifecycle actions.
Hosting and domain renewal should be treated separately. Renewing hosting does not automatically mean that a separately billed domain has been renewed, and renewing a domain does not extend the hosting service.
